For Pain "Very few side effects. A little fatigue now and then, but you get that with Fibromyalgia anyway. It has greatly improved my quality of life and attitude towards life in general. I'm a much happier person having limited pain now."

For Pain "I've recently gone off Lortab and have started taking Ultram. Initially I was worried about the side affects and with Lortab withdrawl (I have bursitis and a frozen shoulder). Well this medicine works far better for my shoulder and back and over all pain, everyone can tell the diffence in me. I too can't be without it. They are now talking about surgery next month. So we will see."

For Fibromyalgia "My rheumatologist started me on Ultram a few weeks ago. I also take Zoloft. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia approximately 10 years ago and have tried several medicines. My rheumatologist was concerned about my long term use of Tylenol and Advil on my kidneys and liver and said this would be easier on my body. It has helped a lot. I have much more energy and much reduced pain, it helps me go to work regularly and have a life with my family, but if I miss a dose I am really moody and weepy, so everyone knows when I haven't had it. I like it so far."

For Fibromyalgia "Have had Fibromyalgia for 17 years, just diagnosed this year. Was prescribed Ultram for worst pain days. Almost completely takes the pain away with 100mg. Little to no side effects. First couple times I took it, I felt a little drowsy. I am very happy that my rheumatologist recommended this medication. To get some pain relief and still feel like myself is all I could hoped for! Would recommend."

For Pain "Dose not work only made me anxious and angry I wasted my money and my chance to not be in pain after surgery. Stop peddling this rubbish. All the Dr round here are prescribing it thanks to some pharmaceutical rep but you're ruining people's rights to quality of life. You know it does not work."

For Pain "I have been on Ultram for 8 years and has made my life bearable. I have many spinal problems. Anklosing spondylitis, slipped discs, bambooing vertebra, degeneration. Been through eight surgeons no one could do anything practical but exploratory butchering. They were honest not wanting to play with it. This drug has been a life saver for me. No side effects. Even helps with tooth pain. I only need 1-2 per day and only use as a cushion not using everyday and only if I have an active day. No withdrawals at all."

For Pain "I have been taking Ultram (200 mg a day) for several years now. I found that it does take the top of the pain down but doesn't give me great relief. I am finding it's effectiveness less and less and will be trying to wean off of it but withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. Please be well aware of the dependency issue. "

For Back Pain "I have been using Tramadol for back pain due to spinal fusion. I found that when I am on a higher dose, I feel OK but once I am under 200 mg a day, it doesn't work for me. Unfortunately, this medicine has to be weened from so I have to go through the lower dosages to be able to try another medicine."

For Fibromyalgia "I have been using Ultram (tramadol) for over 8 years for my fibromyalgia pain. I started on it for a shoulder and neck injury, and it worked so great, I have been able to stay on it. In those 8 years I have actually lowered my dose by less than half, and get through a day on 75 mg. It keeps me working. I can not take it late in the day or it keeps me from sleeping well. If you are in pain, moderate to BAD days, I suggest you try it in moderate levels. It will not help for headaches for me. Stopping to take it will produce withdrawal symptoms after a time. Be prepared to go through a miserable, cranky day. Good luck, and feel well."

For Pain "Years ago I used Ultram for migraines and one day took more than 2 in a smaller period of time and had a seizure. Scariest thing ever, thankfully I had a great neurologist who knew it was this medication and I stopped immediately. Never had another, the medicine was decent though while I had taken it and it didn’t make me feel like I was taking a prescription pain reliever. ( if anything it has the feeling of too much caffeine) Just be careful on dosage."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have been taking tramadol for over 11 years for RLS and while I think it works pretty well for my legs, I feel I have to take more than prescribed to get the same amount of relief that I did when I began the medication. I have not told my doctor for fear that she will take me off the medicine. The withdrawal symptoms are horrendous. My legs are 10 times worse when I am coming off tramadol. I get involuntary spasms in both my arms and legs and am extremely moody. It is near impossible for me to sleep without the tramadol. I am not trying to scare anyone away from taking it because I know it has worked wonders for a lot of other people. "

For Fibromyalgia "I was previously diagnosed with Lupus after a few miscarriages. Now for the past 16 years I am being treated for fibromyalgia. I've been on Ultram for 15 years. I take 1 to 1-1/2 tablets every 4-6 hours 3 x's day. It has enabled me to stay working full time outside the home with very few side effects. I can always tell if I forget to take them as I start feeling the joint pain real bad and no energy. It has been an absolute life saver for me."

For Chronic Pain "It's a great alternative for people with stomach issues as it causes no GI upset. You do have to eat, it can make you nauseous if you don't, but I can't tolerate anti depressant or strong opiates, so this does the trick for moderate chronic pain. Not a good choice for severe pain or post surgery."

For Pain "I've been taking Ultram for nerve pain related to a herniated and degenerative disc. I tried opioid narcotics with NO relief. I could barely walk around and could not sit. Within 45 minutes my pain dropped from a 8/10 to 3/10. After a couple of days my pain was 1/10. The only side effect I experienced was slight dry mouth. It works great!!"

For Pain "Took severe pain away. Hand and neck arthritis. Take with 2 Tylenol or ibuprofen every other dose for best relief. Brand name ultram 50 mg every 5-6 hrs if needed. For me, took most pain away! Better than vicodin and not sure why but so happy I have it. Cons: occasional nausea and big time constipation-take with laxative or colace. I started pill slowly- two 25mg per day over period of a week and worked up to 50 3 x per day over 3 weeks."

For Chronic Pain "I have back pain every day of my life. My doctor prescribed Ultram. I took it for a few weeks and the pain never subsided at all. This drug is as useful as screen windows in a submarine. And. . .After I stopped taking it I had bad withdrawals!! Do not take this drug!!!!!"

For Pain "I had back surgery in 02 and I have severe leg and foot pain ever since. Since that time I have been on Ultram and am pain free. I know they just classified it as a narcotic, where I live, a year ago. It's a shame because I've been on it for 6 years and have never felt better. It is addictive because when I go for longer than 24 hours without it, I have withdrawals but I've been on it for 6 years so it is to be expected. I highly recommend this drug."

For Chronic Pain "I was referred to a ‘pain clinic’ for extreme low back/sciatica pain. I have had hydrocodone for years which I have always used sparingly. (Due to Florida restrictions on opioids my family doctor was hesitant to give me a narcotic prescription as in the past.) I was prescribed 50mg (2) every 4 hours. I would rate this medicine as 0 for severe pain. I turned to Extra Strength Aleve which worked better but only slightly diminished my pain. For me Tramadol is useless."

For Pain "I was prescribed this medication from the ER doctor because I have a muscle in my neck/shoulder/ head that has been in a spasm for 4 years & occasionally it will flare up worse than normal to the point I can’t turn my head/neck or use my left arm. It has done absolutely nothing for the pain. I’ve found other narcotic pain relievers that do work much better than Tramadol."

For Chronic Pain "This did not do anything helpful for me. I tried it for 2 weeks as an opiate substitute after intermedulliary nailing. (This surgery always has a Very painful and long recovery) I was given this by my surgeon because it was supposed to be less addictive. After two weeks I decided to taper off it. This produced HORRID withdrawals. They were far different and more severe than stopping the opioids which I was over in one day. Don't take this med! If a dr tells you it won't cause withdrawals don't believe it. Opioid worked during my surgical recovery and were no prob to taper off then quit."

For Chronic Pain "I started ultram a little over a month ago and am impressed with the lack of side effects. I also noticed it helps with my moods..maybe having less pain just makes me happier. Ive had spinal injections and am using ultram to hold me over until I get my next set. I do take it every 4-6 hours"

For Fibromyalgia "This medicine was useful at first then your body adjusts and you need more to make it work. Well they gave me more and I was also taking Prozac for anxiety, and Trazadone to help with sleeping. Turns this combination of antidepressantss and Tramadol can cause serious drug interactions, so if you feel that something is just not right speak to your doctor as I did. It saved my life."

For Pain "For "me" Ultram/Tramadol has saved my back along with a muscle relaxater. I have whole spinal arthritis. I take as prescribed so I can stay on top of the pain. I'm going into my 2nd month and for "me" the two are a God send. Thank you."
