Ultram (tramadol) for Pain "I was prescribed Tramadol after a herniated disc in my lower back, and 50mg gives me great pain relief for about 6 hours. If the pain is really bad, then 100mg works wonders as well. I have not experienced any negative side effects. This medicine also puts me in a great mood and helps with some symptoms of depression, which makes it much easier to get through the day. I would recommend Tramadol to anyone experiencing pain."

For Anxiety "Been on tramadol many years, The VA passed them out like candy, they put me on it for back pain, I noticed right away it gave me energy and keep me alert - it has never done anything for my pain. I still take it 15 years later every day, I still take it for energy and a little more go. I’ve spoken with many people that use it daily for the same reasons I do. Thank you for taking my comments."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE! It's the tramadol and the withdrawal effect that is causing the RLS. I got on this site to find out what I can take for the RLS, as I wean myself off of the tramadol. Number 1 withdrawal affect = RLS! And here everyone is talking about getting on it. Don't do it! It is a severe addictive drug that will lead to many problems when you get off. The anger, depression, lack of sleep, fatigue, achiness, and most of all RLS is enough to drive me crazy. "

For Depression "I am 44 years old. Been suffering from bouts of depression since teenage years. Last year (2022) had a house fire and I suffered burns on my arm. My 9-year-old son suffered burns on his leg. He was hospitalized and suffered a low blood sugar crisis and passed away. Physical pain and emotional pain brought on serious depression. I was suicidal. I was prescribed Tramadol for the pain but realized that when I took it, my depression dissolved. I have since been taking 50mg, sometimes 100mg, a day. Tramadol has saved my life."

For Anxiety "I was given tramadol for migraines. I realized after a couple of days that it completely took my severe panic attacks away. I struggle with depression, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, and ADHD. Not only am I not having any anxiety when taking tramadol, it improved my suicidal tendencies and helped me become more clear and a more productive person. I am able to face people, leave my comfort zone, complete tasks, and socialize more. This drug is a miracle, and I am so thankful that I found it and that my PCP prescribes it for me. I’m hoping to God he never quits. Due to drug abusers, I’m sure it is difficult to get if your doctor does not believe in the medicine for depression and anxiety. Please consider using for these reasons and get on board. Tramadol is saving lives."

For Pain "I have been taking tramadol for 8 years. Looking at all these reviews, my first response was that many of these folks are lying. However, maybe the effectiveness of this drug and its side effects are indeed all over the spectrum. I researched the drug when first starting to use it and it had many fewer warnings and potential side effects then. It was not considered a narcotic. Here's my view. It removed my pain which had me on the verge of suicide, sitting on the foot of my bed in tears. It removed all my pain, 100% with absolutely no side effects at all. No dizziness, sleepiness, nausea, withdrawal problems, tolerance buildup at all. Taking for 8 years now 100mg at 6:00am and 100mg at 6:00pm every day. A miracle to me!"

For Depression "This is the best medicine for anxiety and depression. Fast results and no side effects, please fight so doctors prescribe this more. They now treat depression with ketamine – a very dangerous and very illegal drug that I used to take 20 years ago at trance parties. But they say tramadol is addictive.. SSRIs are more addictive. I am an ex-junkie so I know what I am talking about."

Ultram (tramadol) for Back Pain "I took two tramadol and had the best night's sleep for longer than I can remember. I have chronic back pain I got from when I was younger, where I was in a tournament fight. I am 40 now with a kid and working 50 plus hours per week (mostly sitting down). I have taken everything and been in physical therapy and nothing seems to work. I hate being in a fog of the other narcotics. I want to enjoy my life and my family, not be oblivious to it. This is amazing. I don't want side effects so I'll keep it to a minimum."

For Restless Legs Syndrome "I have NEVER taken Tramadol and have had RLS for many years. I asked my doctor to prescribe me some (which was tough for some reason, it is the lowest level of narcotic drug but junkies ruin it for people who NEED pain control) After taking 100mg a night 1 hour before bed has SAVED me! I have NO RLS anymore! I love it! I take 2 in the morning for my back pain and 2 at night for back pain and RLS for over a year now and I feel so much better!"

For Chronic Pain "I am 31 years old and I have had chronic back and neck pain since I was 14. I have been prescribed different medications over the years. Tramadol seems to help me the most for what I need. There are other medications that are more powerful but have worse side effects and I need to be sharp minded enough to do my job. Tramadol takes away about 70% of my pain and allows me to function. I also feel happier when I’m on it, probably just because I’m not in agonizing pain. I wrote this review because so many people say tramadol doesn’t work but it actually helps some of us function a normal life. Withdraw symptoms are manageable."

For Depression "Like many of the reviewers here, I discovered the benefits of the medicine for depression by accident. It had been prescribed for back pain after I hurt my back lifting a heavy bag out of the car trunk at the airport. Yes, it helped with the back pain from the injury, but it totally destroyed my depression immediately. It works in less than 1 hour, and you will feel uplifted and hopeful. If you suffer from depression, talk with your doctor about Tramadol. Plain and simple... it works and works fast. No kidding, this is a depression killer."

For Anxiety "Again, another med that has been deemed bad, at a very hard time in my life after losing the love of my life. I tried a lot of medicines, and one tramadol a day works better than anything for both the depression and anxiety that has followed from my circumstance. No side effects."

For Anxiety "I used tramadol for pain from Ankylosing Spondylitis. But I also suffered depression. Once I started taking this medication for pain, over the months I noticed my depression was going. I was happier, my life was beginning. I have more confidence, outgoing again. And I now don't overthink. I had been given antidepressants in the past. Nothing worked. But my pain medication does the job well. Have other people found this as well?"

For Depression "I’m using tramadol off label for depression as well as chronic back pain, just 50 to 100 mg daily. It doesn't have any of the nasty side effects like all of the typical antidepressants. I virtually have no side effects from it. It’s a godsend for me, it cures anxiety and lifts my mood."

Ultram (tramadol) for Fibromyalgia "Tramadol saved my life. Fibromyalgia had just about taken my life away. I was constantly in pain, tired, and often in a mental fog. It was causing major problems in my marriage, because the pain, fatigue, and fog made me a horrible husband and father. I wasn't doing my part around the house because of the pain, fatigue, and lack of cognitive clarity. My wife was resentful, and rightfully so. I finally ended up in a doctor's office in tears - I told him I was 'crazy'. He said I was not crazy, I was ill. He prescribed tramadol and Cymbalta. My life has completely changed: no pain, no fatigue, and no fog. My life and marriage are restored, and we are happier than ever. Daily, I thank God for a good, knowledgeable doctor, Cymbalta and Tramadol."

For Depression "I am a single mother of 3 boys one who has autism and some days we're soooo hard that I was only just coping. I had anxiety and depression. I was prescribed me some tramadol for a headache I had and let's just say in about 40 mins I went from feeling anxious, stressed and angry to happy, energetic and playing with my children. Complete life changer for me for the better. My quality of life improved along with my families as now they have a mother who is happy, patient and calm. I've been on tramadol for about 7 years with no complications. At most I have gone up to on "bad" days was 800mg but now I taper down or have a couple of days break so my tolerance does not build, because obviously like other pills the withdrawal is awful. But so worth it for me "

For Depression "I've had a mesh implant. It's not getting any better as far as the pain. I've been diagnosed with depression and severe anxiety. I've been on all types of medication , but they had caused way too many side effects. Tiredness was something that I can't deal with, and tramadol doesn't make me feel like that. I've been taking tramadol for pain, but it has totally made my life better. My mood is up, I'm no longer depressed, and I only take 150mg a day. Virtually no side effects. I truly wish that tramadol could be prescribed for my mental issues. It has kept me from relapsing. I've been clean and sober for three years now. I haven't had any cravings since I've started taking tramadol."

Ultram (tramadol) for Pain "New reports are claiming Ultram to be highly addictive - the FDA must have decided that the drug works too well and it is too cheap so they put out these reports. I have never felt anything that would make me addicted except pain relief that enables me to perform my daily tasks. People need to speak up quickly. My doctor has decided he wants me to try Elavil which caused rapid weight gain and Cymbalta or Celebrex (very expensive - hmmm!) which caused sexual dysfunction and I felt like a zombie."

For Depression "I have taken tramadol off and on for 3 years for hip bursitis, and I also have suffered from depression for the last 30 years. When I take it, I feel any signs of depression lift. I feel motivation to engage in life, my mind feels clear, and I have more energy. I recently had an honest conversation with my psychiatrist about using a low dose of tramadol for depression. I've tried a dozen different antidepressants with a ton of side effects and hardly any good long-lasting results. I don't feel any side effects from the tramadol, and 50 mg can last me all day. I do notice when it wears off, but I don't mind, as I've had a good 8 hours feeling normal, not high. I am hopeful now. I've been able to just stop it without side effects when needed so far...it's such a low dose but does wonders."

Ultram ODT (tramadol) for Chronic Pain "I just started Ultram ODT so far not impressed the government need to understand there are people out here that needs these meds. Good honest hardworking Americans who deserve a few hours a day without pain. Now I am in pain all the time I don’t have insurance, so I pay for all my meds with cash. There no way I’m going to even consider selling my much needed meds and I know there billons out there who are just like me I have had to go dark to take care of myself it was that or a bullet in the head nobody wants to be like this nobody!!!!!! But our government doesn’t care."

For Depression "SAVED MY LIFE!!! I was struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD from a particularly rough childhood, and motivation for years. I could never get out of bed in the morning or get anything started (especially completing something). I also used to get traumatic night terrors. Tramadol changed everything. Every day I leap out of bed at 6 am, bounding with energy and motivation. I got my dream job, worked so well that I got promoted to a Senior position within 2 months of starting, and was able to earn enough to move into an even bigger house than what I used to live in. Also have had zero negative side effects! No messing with weight, libido, and no 'crashing' or depressive lows when coming off it. 11/10 for treating depression!"

For Anxiety "It's hard to believe something like this can exist, yet when you go to a doctor with cut-up arms & hearing voices, scared out of your mind, obsessed about an idea as irrational as the empty, tight feeling in your chest, they give you a box of antidepressants. I have always been socially awkward & used to cry a lot as a kid, the daydreamer who enjoyed being alone except I didn't like being alone. Tramadol gives me around 6 hours of bliss, 6 hours of clear thoughts of what is in front of me, it's amazing. A cure to unhappiness, it's a shame it's difficult to get. I have been on it for a year and a half, 1 50mg pill every 3 days gives me the motivation to wake up."

For Anxiety "I suffer from chronic anxiety, negative thoughts, and daily panic attacks. I have taken Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, and Ativan. I can't believe it, but Tramadol actually works better for anxiety than all these benzos put together. I haven't taken my daily 4mg of Klonopin, but I am feeling fantastic and very chilled on Tramadol. They should approve this stuff for both anxiety and depression; it's incredible."

Ultram (tramadol) for Back Pain "I have been on Ultram for a few years now. I had a spinal fusion, and they put me on Ultram 50 mg for pain every 4 hours, and I must say it helps me tremendously! Even more than Percocet or Vicodin, so I would highly recommend this medication for back pain."

For Depression "I was gonna respond to the people saying Tram is a life saver. Well, it can be, but be cautious because it will be the hardest drug you have ever tried to quit. From 8 years of experience. I take 400 mg a day. I have 2 bad vertebrae, stenosis, degenerative disc. Nerve compression. Tram was prescribed for the pain. But it took only a week for me to know something was different. After years of anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, it all ended by the end of that week. There is no other medicine made to do what Tram does. None. Effexor comes the closest. But Tram blows it out of the water. Tram never makes you have that high spacey feeling, just a relief from the panic, depressed. I don’t ever plan on quitting. Like I said earlier, you better plan on being on Tram for the long haul, because there is no going back once you start. Your depression and anxiety, pain will be unbearable. So please use caution and count the cost of taking Tram. It is a life saver. Until you go off of it."
